With over 20 years experience as a clinician, and a graduate of University of Texas at Arlington specializing in clinical social work, I am currently serving as private practitioner working with young adults through seniors. I really enjoy helping individuals and couples.
In my practice I deal with a variety of issues including grief & loss, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relational issues, and stress management. I use a warm & accepting approach and believe in empowering my clients in their daily lives. I desire to see healing in the lives of my clients as they work toward building lasting and rewarding relationships, as well as happier healthier families. My style of counseling is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns.
I adjust therapeutic approaches to best suit the specific individual. Counseling will vary depending upon one’s personality, stage of life, strengths or particular concern. The essential goal of therapy is to equip the client with information and insight toward a more meaningful, satisfying and happier life.
My husband and I have been married for 45 years, and throughout those years I have learned much by way of “on the job training.” I am also the mother of two adult children and grandmother to two granddaughters. I have experienced many of the same stressors that my clients bring to therapy. I understand and I will do my best to help. My professional skills, work history and family life have provided a distinct blend of insight and experience.
I am a Christian, though I work with clients from various religious beliefs. I am able to integrate this into therapy depending on the preference of each individual client.
I would welcome the opportunity to work with you to help relieve your current struggles and to create meaningful change in your life.
